CBIC amended notification related to the Exemption of certain goods falling under the Customs Tariff Act when imported into India

Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) on February 23, 2023, issued an amendment to Notification No. 50/2017-Customs, dated June 30, 2017, which states “Exemption of certain goods read with the relevant List, and falling within the Chapter, heading, sub-heading or tariff item of the First Schedule to the said Customs Tariff Act, when imported into India”

The following has been stated namely: -

• In the said notification, in the Table, after S. No. 555 and the entries relating thereto, the following S. No. and entries shall be inserted, namely: -

“555A - All Goods: Provided that nothing contained in this S. No. shall have effect after 31st March 2025 – Nil”

 

This notification shall come into force on February 24, 2023.
