Secretarial ComplianceThe Reserve Bank of India, (RBI) on February 28, 2023, issued a Press release regarding the Issuance of a Calendar for premature redemption during April 2023 - September 2023 for the Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) Scheme.

This has a reference to the terms of Para 13 of the Consolidated Procedural Guidelines on the (SGB) Scheme issued by the Reserve Bank of India vide circular IDMD.CDD.1100/14.04.050/2021-22 dated October 22, 2021,  which provides premature redemption of the gold bonds are permitted after five years from the date of issue of such bond.

The following have been stated namely: -

•  It stated the details of tranches falling due for premature redemption during the period April 01, 2023,  to September 30, 2023, along with the window available for submission of requests for premature redemption by the investors in the Table 

• It is to be noted that the mentioned dates may undergo a change in case of unscheduled holidays and the Investors are advised to take note of the period for submission of requests for redemption of SGB, in case they choose to redeem their holdings before maturity.
