Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on March 20, 2023, issued a notification on the Procedure for Registration Certificate for the import of marble and fresh (green) Areca Nut from Bhutan without Minimum Import Price condition.

The following has been stated: -

•For the financial year 2023-24 onwards, a total of 17,000 MTs of Fresh (Green) Areca Nut under HS Code 08028010 and 10,000 MTs of Marble under HS Codes 2515 or 6802 may be imported without MIP from Bhutan;

•Before effecting any such imports without MIP from Bhutan, the Indian importer shall apply for a Registration Certificate on the DGFT Website;

•The maximum quantity cap for any single RC shall be fixed by this Directorate after due examination of the applications received;

•RC shall be valid till the end of the financial year;

•DGFT reserves the right to make any changes in the modalities/allocation process at any point of time, as deemed fit.
