The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on March 23, 2023, issued a notification regarding the amendments in the Export Policy of Bio-fuels under Chapter 27 of Schedule 2 (Export Policy) ITC (HS) classification of Export and Import.
The following has been amended namely: -
• In the Sl.No. 115A containing the item of description “Ethyl alcohol and other spirits, denatured, of any strength.” Wherein the present policy states “Export is permitted under license only for non-fuel purposes” shall be revised as follows namely: -
“Export is permitted under license only for non-fuel purposes. However, the Export of Biofuel from Special Economic Zones (SEZ)/ Export Oriented Units (EoUs), is allowed for Fuel as well as Non-Fuel purposes without any restriction when produced using only imported feedstock”
