The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on March 23, 2023, issued a notification regarding the amendment to the conditions of the Standard Input Output Norms (SION) at E-136 for the export of wheat flour.
The following has been stated namely: -
• In the SION E-136, the item that specifies Multi-Grain Atta or Fortified Whole Wheat Atta is allowed to be exported subject to the below-mentioned conditions namely: -
(i) The exported item shall contain at least 80% Whole Wheat Flour (Atta) and other ingredients being added like soya flour, oatmeal, fenugreek powder, vitamins, etc. will be domestically sourced.
(ii) Import entitlement of Wheat under the Advance Authorisation for such export items, i.e. Multi Grain Atta or Fortified Whole Wheat Atta will be calculated in proportion to the percentage of Whole Wheat Flour (Atta) in the export item, i.e. for every 1 Kg of Whole Wheat Flour (Atta), import of 1.07 Kg of Wheat will be allowed.
(iii) The export description in the shipping bill will clearly indicate the percentage content of Whole Wheat Flour and other ingredients being added.
