The Industries, Investment, Promotion, and Commerce Department, Tamil Nadu on March 18, 2023, issued the Tamil Nadu City Gas Distribution Policy 2023.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The objective of the policy is:
1. To promote the adoption of natural gas by the state as a green fuel
2. To ensure faster implementation of GCD infrastructure in the state
3. To ensure compliance with safe operations and reliable/uninterrupted supply of natural gas by maintaining Asset Integrity by all the GCD entities
• The utility entities shall pay the upfront restoration charges based on the rates fixed with an annual escalation @5% from April 01, 2023
This shall come into effect from March 18, 2023
