The Government of Andhra Pradesh on March 25, 2023, issued a notification regarding the amendment to the Andhra Pradesh Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules, 2010
The following has been amended namely: -
• In Rule 3 which states “Definitions” in rule 3 (I) (25) the following has been inserted namely: -
“(25) ‘Specified Category’ in relation to a school, means, the Kasturba Gandhi Baalika Vidyalayas (KGBV’s), all the residential schools run by the Andhra Pradesh Residential Educational Institutions Society (APREIS) Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Andhra Pradesh Backward Classes Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (MJAPBCWREIS), Andhra Pradesh tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (APTWREIS)(Gurukulam), Ashrams schools run by the Andhra Pradesh Model Scvhoold Society (APMSS) and Sports Schools run by Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh, (SAAP), in addition to Kendriya Vidyalayas, Mavodaya Vidyalas, Sainik SChiols for the purpose of Sub-clause (n) of section (2) of the Act.”
