Industry Specific Compliance The Government of Manipur on March 15, 2023, issued the Manipur Mineral (First Amendment) Policy, 2022 to further amend the Manipur Mineral Policy, 2021.

The following has been stated: -

•In clause 21 which states ‘Minor Minerals’, after clause (b), the following shall be inserted:

"(c) in case of river bed mining, only manual mining will be permitted; no machinery will be allowed and depth of mining shall be restricted to 3m/water level whichever is less."

This shall come into force on March 15, 2023.
