The Gujarat Pollution Control Board, (GPCB) on March 24, 2023, issued a guidance manual for “Slaughterhouse and meat processing industries, bone mill, Processing of animal horn, hoofs, and other body parts”
Only meat processing industries, bone mills, Processing of animal horn, hoofs, and other body parts
•Applicant shall furnish local body NOC for the slaughterhouse.
•Applicant shall furnish Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) department Registration / License.
•Applicant shall install primary effluent treatment plant to achieve discharge norms as per MoEF & CC notification No. G.S.R. 1016 (E), dated October 28, 2016, shall also furnish local body permission for the reception of primary treated effluent into their sewers leading to a full-fledged Sewage Treatment Plant.
•Applicant shall furnish local body permission for the reception of generated solid waste.
•Industrial wastewater generation shall be less than 10 KL/D.
Not applicable if, their location is complying with the location criteria of the local body or land allotted or permit issued by the local body for the purpose and applicant to furnish Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) Registration / License.
