The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI) on March 27, 2023, notified that the Safety Glass (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023 to further amend Safety Glass (Quality Control) Order, 2020.
The following has been amended-
In the Safety Glass (Quality Control) Order, 2020, in Paragraph 2, after the second proviso, “Provided also that nothing in this Order shall apply to the import of safety glass by a vehicle manufacturer for manufacturing up to ten thousand vehicles manufactured in India per financial year: Provided also that nothing in this Order shall apply to the import of up to 5,000 number of safety glass per financial year for the purpose of repairs or after-sales service of vehicles.” shall be inserted.
