The Govt. of Andaman and Nicobar on March 29, 2023, issued a notification regarding the online document update in Aadhar free of cost
The following has been stated namely: -
• The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has decided to allow residents to update documents in their Aadhaar online free of cost, with a people-centric move that will benefit millions of residents.
• As part of the Digital India Initiative, the UIDAI took the decision and is urging residents to get the benefit of a free document update facility on the myAadhaar portal.
• It states that The free service is available for the next three months i.e March 15, 2023, to June 14, 2023.
• The UIDAI has been encouraging residents to upload Proof of Identity (Pol) and Proof of Address (PoA) documents to revalidate their demographic details, especially if Aadhaar was issued 10 years back and never got updated, this will help in improved the ease of living, better service delivery and enhances authentication success rate.
• The Residents of Andaman & Nicobar Islands may log in to https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ using their Aadhaar Number and update their Aadhaar Card free of cost. If not possible, may visit the nearest Aadhaar Centre for Document updates by paying a fee of Rs. 50/
