The Labour Commissioner, Odisha on April 05, 2023, issued a notification regarding the Variable Dearness Allowances
The revised VDA shall come into effect from April 01, 2023
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that the VDA for the half year commencing fromApril 1, 2023, shall be based on an increase in the average Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers from 365.76 to 378.58 as of December 31, 2022, resulting in a 12.82 point increase.
• it further states that the Variable Dearness Allowance shall be fixed @ Rs. 12.00 per day (after rounding off) and shall be payable to the unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled, and highly skilled categories of employees in all 89 scheduled employments (list enclosed in the Schedule)
• The following VDA has been revised for the following categories of workers with effect from April 01, 2023, namely: -
(i) Unskilled - Rs.345.00
(ii) Semi-skilled - Rs.385.00
(iii) Skilled - Rs.435.00
(iv) Highly-skilled - Rs.485.00
