The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoAFW) on April 06, 2023, published the Insecticides (Third Amendment) Rules, 2023 to further amend the Insecticides Rules, 1971
These Rules shall come into force on April 06, 2023
The following amendments have been made namely: -
• In Rule 6 which states “Manner of registration” in sub-rule (2), for clauses (i) and (ii), the following clauses shall be substituted, namely: -
(i) rupees two lakhs twenty-five thousand in case of an application relating to Chemical Insecticides for registration under sub-section (3) and (3B) of section 9 of the Insecticides Act, 1968.
(ii) rupees ten thousand in case of an application relating to Bio-pesticides for registration under sub-section (3) and (3B) of section 9 of the Insecticides Act, 1968;
(iii) rupees twelve thousand five hundred in case of an application relating to Export for registration under subsection (3) of section 9 of the Insecticides Act, 1968; and (iv) rupees twenty-five thousand in case of an application relating to Chemical Insecticides for registration under sub-section (4) of section 9 of the Insecticides Act, 1968.
• In Rule 6A which states “Issue of duplicate certificate of registration” for the words “rupees one hundred”, the words “rupees five hundred” shall be substituted
• In Rule 6B which states “Addition, deletion or alteration on the Certificate of Registration including labels and leaflets”
(i) For the words “A fee of rupees one hundred shall be paid”, the words “The fees shall be paid as provided in the TABLE” shall be substituted.
• In Rule 7 which states “Appeal” in sub-rule 3, for the words “rupees one thousand”, the words “rupees two thousand five hundred” shall be substituted.
