The Government of Punjab on March 31, 2023, issued the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (Electricity Supply Code and Related Matters) (12th Amendment) Regulations, 2023 to further amend the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (Electricity Supply Code and Related Matters) Regulations, 2014.
The following amendments have been stated:
• The following sentence has been added at the end of 1st proviso to clause (b) of Regulation 6.7.6 are as under:
“Thereafter, the partially completed LD system, after clearance from Chief Electrical Inspector, shall be taken over by the distribution licensee and energized to release electric connections to the residents according to the time frame specified in Regulation 8 of these regulations. Such partially completed LD system taken over from the promoter shall be maintained by the distribution licensee at its cost.”
• Regulation 22.3 and Regulation 24 have been deleted.
• The Clause (d) and (e) of Regulation 27.1 has been deleted.
• After clause 8 of Annexure 1, the following clauses have been added:
9.BILLING MISTAKES:
The distribution licensee shall ensure that not more than 0.1% of the total number of bills issued require modifications.
10. FAULTY METERS:
The distribution licensee shall ensure that not more than 1% of the total number of meters are defective meters at any one time.
• Reference no. 2.1 and Reference No. 8 of the table under Annexure 5 has been deleted.
These Regulations shall be applicable to all licensees in their respective licensed/supply areas and all consumers/persons in the State of Punjab.
These Regulations shall come into force from March 31, 2023.
