The Government of Sikkim on April 04, 2023, issued a notification regarding excavation for construction works.
The earth excavation for construction works in all notified areas under the Sikkim Allotment of House Sites and Construction of Building (Regulation and Control) Act, 1985, and the Sikkim Municipalities Act, 2007 shall not be allowed with effect from May 01, 2023, till August 31, 2023, due to the onset of the rainy season. Further, no Construction Orders shall be issued during this period.
Anyone found carrying out construction in contravention of the above direction shall be penalized.
