The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME) on April 12, 2023, issued the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (Amendment) Rules, 2023 to further amend the Khadi and Village Industries Commission Rules, 2006.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Rule 5 which states “Casual Vacancies” the following sub-rule (3) has been inserted namely: -
“(a) If the Chairman dies or resigns or is removed from office or for any other reason unable to perform the duties of his office, the Government may designate one of the members appointed under clause (a) of subsection (2) of section 4 to be the Chairman until a Chairman is appointed by the Government under subsection (3) of section 4 of the Act;
(b) If the Chairman is unable to discharge his functions owing to absence, illness or any other reason, the Government may designate one of the members appointed under clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section 4 to be the Chairman until the regular Chairman resumes his duties.”
This has come into force on April 12, 2023
