The Government of Maharashtra on April 11, 2023, issued a notification regarding amendment in Maharashtra Labour Laws (Amendment) Act, 2022.
The following has been amended-
•Amendment in section 104 of the Maharashtra Industrial Relations Act which states Penalty for investigating, etc., illegal strikes, 2[locks-outs, closures, and stoppages].
•Amendment in section 106 of the Maharashtra Industrial Relations Act which states the Penalty for illegal change.
•Amendment in section 17A of the Maharashtra Labour Welfare Fund Act which states the Penalty for obstructing inspection in the discharge of inspection duties or failure to produce documents, etc.
•After section 17B of the Labour Welfare Fund Act, section 17 C which states the compounding of offense section shall be inserted.
•Amendment in section 3 of the Maharashtra Mathadi, Hamal and Other Manual Workers (Regulation of Employment and Welfare) Act, 1969 which states schemes for ensuring regular employment of unprotected workers.
•Amendment in section 27 of the Mathadi, Hamal and Other Manual Workers Act which states a general penalty.
•After section 27 of the Mathadi, Hamal and Other Manual Workers Act, section 27-1A which states compounding of offence shall be inserted.
•Amendment in section 3 of the Maharashtra Private Security Guards (Regulation of Employment and Welfare) Act, 1981 which states a scheme for ensuring regular employment for security guards.
•After section 27 of the Private Security Guards Act, section 27 A which states compounding of offence shall be inserted.
•Amendment in section 10 of the Maharashtra Workmen’s Minimum House-rent Allowance Act, 1983 which states penalty for workmen.
