Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on April 18, 2023, issued a notification to amend Notification No.18/2022-Central Excise, dated July 19, 2022, to increase the Special Additional Excise Duty on the production of Petroleum Crude.

The following has been stated:

• In the Table, against S. No. 1, for the entry in column (4), the entry “Rs. 6400 per tonne” shall be substituted.

This notification shall come into force on April 19, 2023.
