Industry Specific ComplianceThe University Grants Commission (UGC) on April 17, 2023, issued the guidelines for Equitable Opportunity to the Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDGs) in HEIs.

The policy aims to bridge the gap between various social groups, particularly for socio-economically disadvantaged groups (SEDGs), i.e., SCS, STs, and OBCs, which are historically underrepresented in higher education. The policy recognizes the importance of creating enabling mechanisms for providing Children with Special Needs (CWSN) or Divyang, the same opportunities of obtaining quality education as any other child. The policy acknowledges the importance of interventions to promote the education of children belonging to minority communities, including women, transgender, and migrant communities, children victims of trafficking, orphans, child beggars in urban areas, etc.
