The University Grants Commission (UGC) on April 19, 2023, issued a circular regarding the Action Plan for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM)
The following has been stated namely: -
• It has been directed to the HEIs to ensure that adequate measures are taken to enhance the number of events organized under AKAM. These events may be planned with an emphasis on the accomplishment of the objectives of Amrit Kaal along with high Jan Bhagidari and public participation.
• The HEIs may draw a calendar of activities under AKAM as given below namely: -
(i) Women & Children
(ii) Tribal Empowerment
(iii) Water
(iv) Cultural Pride
(v) LiFE
(vi) Inclusive Development
(vii) Atmanirbhar Bharat
(viii) Health & Wellness
(ix) Unity
• It states that the Vice-Chancellors of Universities and Principals of colleges are requested to disseminate the information on the theme-wise calendar of activities under AKAM with their faculty members, students, and stakeholders and encourage them to participate in large numbers.
• The HEIs are also requested to upload the details of participation in these activities on the UGC University Activity Monitoring Portal (UAMP) http://uamp.ugc.ac.in and share them on their social media platforms like Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
