The Government of Punjab on April 19, 2023, published the Punjab Integrated Logistics & Logistics Park Policy-2023
This Policy aims to create a framework to provide cost-effective and reliable infrastructure along with skilled manpower
This policy shall be applicable for a period of 5 years from the date of this notification and can be extended further by the state.
The following objectives of the policy have been stated namely: -
• To promote the use of Technology and innovation for the development of logistics facilities.
• To enhance, improve and upgrade the existing warehousing and logistics facilities in the state and create a plan to build new ones
• To promote Green logistics for the de-carbonization of the sector
• To Synchronize the activities of the state departments in line with the tenets of PM Gati Shakti Mater’s plan for providing multi-modal connectivity infrastructure to various economic zones.
• To keep ready a shelf of land bank earmarked after their due feasibility and facilitate the environment for speedy clearances
• To take initiatives with a special focus on skill development and building capacity.
• To enhance first and last-mile connectivity and reduce the cost of logistics
• To create an effective and efficient logistics ecosystem to support the vision set forth in industrial and business development policy.
• To develop the state as one of the most economically developed states in the country and make it the best for doing business
Through this policy, the government of Punjab seeks to achieve investment in the following key sectors namely: -
• Cold chain facilities, Silos storage, warehouses, and associated infrastructure
• ICD, SFS, ACC, AFS, PFTs, MMLPs, and associated infrastructure
• E-commerce fulfillment bubs
• Skill Development and Training
• Electric and cleaner emission freight infrastructure
• Robotics and automatic technologies in warehousing and the logistics sector
• Supply chain management and Process improvement etc.
