Industry Specific ComplianceThe Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) on April 20, 2023, issued a notification regarding provisions of Weapons of Mass Destruction and their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Act, 2005.

The following has been stated-

  • Procedure for implementing Section 12A of ‘The Weapons of Mass Destruction and their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Act, 2005 (WMD Act).
  • Appointment of nodal officer for Implementation of Section 12A of the WMD Act.
  • Change of nodal officer for implementation of Section 51A of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (UAPA).
  • Annexure I states extracts of order on procedure for implementing Section 12 A of the WMD Act, 2005.
  • Procedure for communication of compliance of action taken under Section 12A, the CNO and the Nodal Officer in the Foreigners Division, MHA shall furnish the details of funds, financial assets or economic resources, or related services of designated individuals/entities, frozen by an order, and details of the individuals whose entry into India or transit through India was prevented, respectively, to the Ministry of External Affairs, for onward communication to the United Nations.
