The Government of Kerala on April 18, 2023, issued a notification regarding the colour of the paint to be used for marking the trees during the period from April 01, 2023, to March 31, 2024, in the State of Kerala.
The following colour has been stated:
• For Coconut Trees and Sago,
o For the 1st half from April 1, 2023, to September 30, 2023 - “White”
o For the 2nd half from October 01, 2023, to May 31, 2024 - “Green”
• In the case of Palmyrah trees, the license is issued for the whole financial year and the colour of the paint to be issued for the marking of trees shall be “Red” for the whole financial year commencing from April 01, 2023, to March 31, 2024.
• The colour of the paint to be used for marking of coconut tree licenced for drawing sweet toddy (Neera) for the period from April 01, 2023, to March 31, 2024, in the State of Kerala shall be as follows:
o For the 1st half from April 1, 2023, to September 30, 2023 - “Blue”
o For the 2nd half from October 01, 2023, to May 31, 2024 - “Yellow”
