The Government of Gujarat on April 24, 2023, issued a notification to fix the minimum wages for the Scheduled Occupations as specified.
The contractors engaged in such occupations have to pay their laborers wages at the minimum rate of wages fixed by the Government in that schedule and subsistence allowance as notified from time to time.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The table with the Rate of the daily basic wage in Rs. for the Skilled, Semi-skilled, and Un-skilled has been stated
• Jain-I in the State of Gujarat shall include the areas in the heart of the Municipal Corporation as constituted under the Gujarat Provisional Municipal Corporation Act, 1949, and the area within the Municipal Corporation as provided for in the Gujarat Municipal Corporation Act, 1964. and the areas falling within the jurisdiction of the respective Urban Development Corporations.
• Jain-II, all areas of the State of Gujarat except those included in Jain-I.
In addition, no special allowance shall be paid in addition to these rates for a period of 6 months from April 24, 2023, to September 30, 2023.
