The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) on April 25, 2023, issued a notification regarding the revised DoP for approval of High-Cost Treatment cases for ESI Beneficiaries (per beneficiary per year)
The following has been stated namely: -
• Earlier the cases requiring the expenditure of more than Rs. 10 lakhs per beneficiary per year are duly examined by the HCT Committee of ESIC Hqrs. Office and approval of the Chairman, ESI Corporation is granted on a case-to-case basis.
• Now, to further expedite and smoothen the delivery of medical services, ESI Corporation has approved and revised the DoP for approval of High-Cost Treatment cases for ESI Beneficiaries (per beneficiary per year):
1. Cases up to 30 lakhs shall be dealt with by Director General, ESIC.
2. Cases up to 30 lakhs- Rs. 50 lakhs shall be dealt with by Chairman, Standing Committee, ESI Corporation.
3. Cases above Rs 50 lakhs shall be dealt with by Chairman, ESIC
