The Government of Karnataka on April 24, 2023, issued a notification regarding declaring a Paid holiday to all employees on the day of poll under the Karnataka Industrial Establishment (National And Festival Holidays) Act, 1963
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that a paid Holiday shall be granted on May 10, 2023 (Wednesday)
• It states that every employee (other than an employee in an Industrial establishment owned or controlled by the Government of India) whose name is included in the electoral roll of the constituency where such election is held, shall be allowed on the polling day, a day's paid holiday to enable him to exercise his franchise.
• It has been instructed to all concerned departments/authorities to take necessary action in granting the paid holiday to the said employees across the State, by issuing suitable instructions to all concerned on the day of the Poll.
