Industry Specific ComplianceThe Directorate of General Shipping (DGS) on April 26, 2023, issued a notification regarding an addendum to notice no. 04 of 2022 dated June 04, 2022, related to the Professional Competence of Seafarers in possession of the Certificate of Competency of Nautical Discipline

The following has been stated namely: -

• It states that the Directorate has received representations from stakeholders regarding issues encountered during the implementation of M.S. Notice No. 04 of 2022 dated as well as subsequent clarifications issued by this Directorate on the aforementioned M.S. Notice No. 07 of 2022 dated July 13, 2022.

• It states that this matter is being re-examined by this Directorate in its whole and holistically, embracing all aspects of it. As a consequence, the aforementioned M. S Notices are now instructed to be held in abeyance until further instructions are issued. 

• It states that All the MMDs are advised to follow the procedure for re-validation of the certificate of competencies, which existed immediately prior to issuance of the M.S. Notice No. 04 of 2022.
