The Government of Assam on April 27, 2023, issued The rate of VDA to be paid to workmen employed by and through specified contractors in respect of cases which are not covered under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The rates are fixed on the 100% rise on average all India Consumer Price Index (base 2001=100) for the period July 2022 (CPI Points 374 112) to December 2022 (CPI Points 381.024).
• The table with applicable VDA for Highly Skilled/Accountant or equivalent to Accountant, Skilled (ITI Certificate holder or equivalent/clerical), Skilled (Other than ITI Certificate Holder)/ Semi Skilled/ Unskilled Workman has been inserted.
The rate of VDA shall come into retrospective effect from January 01, 2023, for a period of six months.
