The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJ&E) on May 01, 2023, issued the draft of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2023 to further amend the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In rule (15) which states the Rules of Accessibility, in sub-rule (1), after clause (d), the following clause (e) has been inserted, namely: -
“(e) Guidelines on Accessible Sports Complex and Residential Facilities for Sports Persons with Disabilities as specified in the notification of the Government of India in the Department of Sports, vide number No. 7-6/MYAS/MDSD/2021, dated October 13, 2022.”
The draft rules will be taken into consideration after the expiry of a period of 30 days from the date on which the copies of the Official Gazette in which this notification is published are made available to the public.
