The Government of Goa on April 28, 2023, issued a notification directing all the licensed premises for the sale of liquor to remain closed from May 08, 2023, 2023 to May 10, 2023.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that all licensed premises for the sale of liquor shall be closed from 6.00 p.m. May 08, 2023, till the Midnight of May 10, 2023 within the jurisdiction of Pollem Village of Canacona Taluka, Mollem Village of Dharbandora Taluka, within and Surla Village of Sattari Taluka which falls within the range of 5 km. from the Border of Karnataka in view of the General Election to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly 2023.
• It states that the licensed premises having a license for “Bar and Restaurant” may be allowed to keep the restaurant open for serving food only and the Bar counter shall be closed and no liquor shall be allowed to be served on the above-mentioned days. The owners of the licensed premises having “Bar & Restaurant” shall also display a board on the premises stating that no liquor will be served and that only the restaurant is open for serving food.
