The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), May 01, 2023, notified the Draft Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Amendment Rules, 2023 to further amend the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016.
Hereby given that the said notification will be taken into consideration by the Central Government on or after receiving objections and suggestions on the expiry of sixty days from the date on which copies of this notification as published in the 'Gazette of India are made available to the public.
The following has been stated-
•In rule 9, after sub-rule (4), the ‘‘(5) The utilization and management of used oil shall be in accordance to the provisions contained in Schedule X’’ sub-rule shall be inserted.
•In the said rules, after Schedule IX, the Schedule ‘SCHEDULE X [See rule 9 (5)] Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for Used Oil’ shall be inserted.
They shall come into force from April 01, 2024.
