The Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) on May 03, 2023, notified the date on which certain provisions of the Code on Social Security, 2020 will be enforced.
The following provisions will be enforced on May 03, 2023:
• sub-section (3) of section 15, in so far as it relates to the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995;
• clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 16, in so far as it relates to the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995;
• clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section 16;
• sub-section (2) of section 16, in so far as it relates to the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995;
• section 143, in so far as it applies in giving effect to the provisions of sub-clause (ii) of clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section 16 in relation to the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995;
• sub-section (1) of section 164 to repeal the corresponding provisions of the Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 (19 of 1952) specified in item 3 thereof; and
• clause (b) of sub-section (2) of section 164 in so far as it relates to the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995.
