The University Grants Commission (UGC), on May 03, 2023, issued a notification regarding the installation of Roof Top Solar (RTS) on Government Buildings.
Installation of Rooftop Solar (RTS) on buildings is one of the simplest ways to contribute to achieving energy independence. In this regard, it is initiated a project to install Roof Top Solar (RTS) on the government building which will contribute to achieving energy independence, besides contributing to net-zero emission.

The Higher Education Institutions are requested to install RTS plants and also disseminate information to the institutions under their charge and encourage them to install the same, this is a part of saving electricity and contributes towards achieving clean energy targets of the country.
