The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) on April 28, 2023, issued a notification regarding the Referral of patients for secondary/SST treatment
The following has been stated namely: -
• For the services not available in-house, refer secondary care/SST patients to other ESI Hospital/ESIC medical college as per availability of services
• If services are not available in ESIC Hospital/Medical College, the secondary care/SST cases may be referred to other Government Institutions like AIIMS, PGI, etc.
• Referral to tie-up hospitals should be minimized and resorted to as a last resort
• Meanwhile, develop and operationalize in-house medical services in each hospital as per norms applicable so as to minimize referrals.
