The Department of Industries, Energy and Labour, Maharashtra on May 04, 2023, issued a notification regarding Holiday during the election.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Adequate leave should be provided to the voters of Karnataka state who are working in the bordering districts of Maharashtra state (Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Sangli, Solapur, Osmanabad, Latur, and Nanded districts), however, whose names are included in the voter list of Karnataka states.
• Concession of two to three hours may be granted to workers in polling areas instead of leave for exercising their right to vote.
• The workers will need to take the prior permission of the concerned District Election Officer.
• The said holiday shall be applicable to all establishments, factories, shops, etc. under the Department of Industries, Energy, and Labor.
