The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) on May 18, 2023, issued a notification to amend notification no. S.O. 1536(E), dated May 12, 2017, related to the crop species (new, extant, and farmers' varieties) for the purpose of registration of varieties.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In the Table, after serial number 165 and the entries relating thereto, the following serial numbers and entries shall be inserted, namely: -–
"166. Teak (Tectona grandis L. f.)
167. Kalazeera [Bunium persicum (Bioss.) Fedts.]
168. Saffron (Crocus sativus L.)
169. Dolichos bean (Lablab purpureus (L.) Sweet)
170. Ash gourd (Benincasa hispida (Thunb.) Cogn.
171. Snake gourd (Trichosanthes anguina L.)
172. Ivy gourd (Coccinia grandis (L.) Voigt)”
