The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on May 24, 2023, issued a notification regarding Inviting public comments for the adoption of TSDSI transposed 3GPP specifications from Release 10 to 17 into national standards by Telecommunications Engineering Centre (TEC)
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that the Telecommunications Engineering Centre has approved a policy for the adoption of standards of Telecom Standards Development Society, India /international standards bodies into National Standards. “Standardization Guide” – a policy document for the adoption of telecom and related ICT standards defines the process of adoption/ratification of TSDSI/international standards like institutional mechanism, the process of adoption, maintenance of standards, numbering plan, stakeholder consultation, etc.
• The TEC has decided to initiate the process of adoption of TSDSI transposed 3GPP specifications from Release 10 to 17 (total 428 documents) into national standard
• The list of transposed standards along with the URL of the file folders for each Release has been attached as Annexure-1
• All the stakeholders are requested to mail their comments by June 23, 2023, to at [email protected], [email protected] It further states that it may be kept into consideration while offering the comments that only technical content or the amendments affecting the technical content of the standard shall be open for public comments, as per Para 6.2.4 of the Standardisation Guide.
