The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on May 24, 2023, issued a notification regarding the Extension of the period of concurrent running of IS 15490: 2017- Seamless Steel Cylinders for On-Board Storage of Compressed Natural Gas as a Fuel for Automotive Vehicles with and without Amendment No. 1
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that the last date of implementation of Amendment No. 1 to IS 15490: 2017 has now been extended to June 02, 2024.
• All BOs are advised to bring it to the notice of all Licensees and Applicants and ensure implementation of Amendment No. 1 by 02 June 2024.
• It further states that The other provisions of implementation laid down in circular no. CMD-III/16: IS 15490 dated July 07, 2021, shall remain the same.
