EHS ComplianceThe Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) on May 17, 2023, issued direction Under Section 5 of the Environment (Protection) Act implementation of the ban on Single Use Plastic (SUP).

The following directions have been stated:

• To conduct exhaustive inspection drives at regular intervals in the area under your jurisdiction along with State UDDs to identify manufacturers and suppliers of banned SUP items including the plastic coated SUP items through contact tracing

• To identify the suppliers of banned SUP items in your area through contact tracing.

• To take necessary action against the violators (Including those as per the enclosed list) including imposing penalties, seizure of SUP items, levying Environmental Compensation, and suspension of commercial license/sealing of the manufacturing.

• To conduct regular checking at entry and exit points of the State boundaries to ensure that banned thin plastic layered plates and other SUPs are not being supplied to the respective States.
