Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Madhya Pradesh on May 26, 2023, issued the amendment to Madhya Pradesh Nagar Palika (Colony Development) Rules, 2021.

The following has been amended namely: -

• Rule 23 which states “Preparation of plan for providing civic infrastructure in the unauthorised colonies came into existence before the cut-off date”:

1. The following proviso has been added after sub-rule (3):

“Provided that from the date of making the list public, the land of the concerned colony shall be under the management of the competent authority and a copy of the list shall be sent to the Sub-registrar’s office with the intention that the land and plots/buildings of the concerned colony shall not be affected by any kind of transfer or transfer agreement. Seller or the buyer or both shall be required to obtain a no-objection certificate from the urban body and registration shall not be executed without no-objection certificate”

2. Sub-rule (7) has been substituted namely: -

“The competent authority, based on the final lay out prepared under sub-rule (6), with the object of providing civic infrastructure in the unauthorised colony, shall prepare a plan.”

• Rule 24 which states “Development works in unauthorised colonies”:

1. Sub-rule (1), (2), and (3) have been substituted

2. Sub-rule (4) has been omitted.
