DGFT amended the export policy of Rice (Basmati and Non-Basmati) to EU member states and other European Countries

Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on May 29, 2023, issued amendments in the Policy condition of Sl. No. 55 & 57, Chapter 10 Schedule-2, ITC(HS) Export Policy, 2018.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The Sl. No. 55 – Non-Basmati Rice and the Sl. No. 57 – Basmati Rice Dehusked (Brown), semi-milled, milled both in either par-boiled or raw condition, the revised Policy now states that: -

1. Export to EU Member States and European countries namely the United Kingdom, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland permitted subject to the issuance of a Certificate of Inspection by the Export Inspection Council/Export Inspection Agency.

2. Certificate of Inspection by Export Inspection Council/Export Inspection Agency shall not be mandatory for export to remaining European countries with effect from May 29, 2023, for a period of six months.
