The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) on June 01, 2023, issued a notification regarding the Draft Bima Vahak Guidelines
The following has been stated namely: -
• The objectives of the draft have been stated as follows namely: -
(i) To establish a dedicated distribution channel that is focused on enhancing insurance inclusion and creating awareness in every Gram Panchayat, thereby improving accessibility and availability of insurance in every nook and corner of the country.
(ii) Identify and develop resources locally who understand and appreciate local needs within every Gram Panchayat and village, especially encouraging, onboarding of women who can gain the trust of locals as Bima Vahaks for distribution and servicing of insurance products
• All the stakeholders are requested to submit their comments/suggestions, if any, on the proposed guidelines in the given format on or before 5:00 PM of June 22, 2023, to [email protected]
