The University Grants Commission (UGC) on June 05, 2023, issued a notification regarding the Launch of UGC Guidelines and Curriculum Framework for Environment Education at the Undergraduate level released on World Environment Day.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The guidelines include areas such as climate change, pollution, waste management, sanitation, etc.
• The guidelines have been developed to integrate environmental education and sustainable practices into higher education curricula across India.
• The Course is mandatory for all Undergraduate programmes in HEIs
• HEIs may also use the available online resources available on the SWAYAM platform and UGC e-PG Pathshala to augment the teaching-learning process.
