The Government of Kerala on June 05, 2023, issued a notification relating to the Litter-Free Campuses to combat plastic waste.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The state has announced the implementation of litter-free campuses. 

• This is a part of the 'Suchithwa Vidyalayam Haritha Vidyalayam' campaign. 

• To facilitate proper waste management, all schools are required to install waste bins for the segregation of organic and non-organic waste. Customized waste disposal schemes are to be planned based on the individual needs of each school.
