The University Grants Commission, (UGC) on June 12, 2023, issued a notification invitation of applications from eligible colleges for conferment and extension of Autonomous status as per UGC (Conferment of Autonomous Status upon Colleges and Measures for Maintenance of Standards in Autonomous Colleges) Regulations, 2023.
The regulations provide that eligible colleges may apply, on the UGC portal at any time during the year for conferment /extension of autonomous status A college fulfilling the eligibility as per the Regulations and intending to become get an extension as an autonomous college may apply on the portal at https://apcollege.ugc.ac.in.
A college applying for conferment extension of autonomous status is required to pay Rs.50,000/-(Rupees Fifty Thousand only) as an application fee at the time of submitting the application for autonomous status on the portal. The fee is to be paid electronically on the portal itself.
