The Animal Husbandry Department, Himachal Pradesh on May 06, 2023, issued the Himachal Pradesh Gauvansh Sanrakshan and Samvardhan Rules, 2023.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Qualification and Procedure: – The non-official members will be a resident of Himachal Pradesh who is doing extraordinary work for the rehabilitation of stray cattle and conservation of Germ Plasm of Indian breeds of cattle. The members will be nominated by the Government through notification.
• Terms and Conditions of Non–official Members: - The non-official members shall not be paid any salary or honorarium, however, allowances shall be paid as applicable to Class-I officers of the State Government.
• Registration of Institutions and audit of their accounts – The Aayog shall register the specified institutions involved in the protection, conservation, and welfare of the Gauvansh by paying Rs. 500/- to the Aayog as fees.
This has come into force on May 06, 2023
