The University Grants Commission, (UGC) on June 20, 2023, issued an order to give directions to fulfill the promise that the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 holds out to working women all over the Country.
The following guidelines are issued-
•To upskill members of the lCCs, LCs, and lCs and to educate women employees and women's issues, the authorities, management, and employers must frequently conduct orientation programs, workshops, seminars, and awareness programs for the women.
•The authorities, management, and employers must act swiftly and effectively to inform the members of the LCCs, LCs, and lCs of their responsibilities and the proper way to conduct an inquiry after receiving a complaint from the moment the complaint is received until the investigation is finished and the Report is delivered, there has been sexual harassment at work.
It is requested to fill in the details regarding compliance with the above points, through online mode on the form available on the SAKSHAM portal and the UAMP portal for the year 2022-23, at the earliest.
