The Government of Haryana on June 23, 2023, issued a notification fixing a paid holiday for employees for the sarpanch elections.
The Governor has fixed "Sunday" July 09, 2023 for Bye Elections for the seats of Panches and Sarpanches in Gram Panchayats and Members of Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads as mentioned in Annexure 'A', 'and C' for which poll shall be held on July 09, 2023 (Sunday) to be the holidays with wages for all the workers/employees enrolled as voters in Gram Panchayats, Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads as mentioned in Annexure A', 'B, and 'C' as attached to the document, working in all the shops and commercial establishments within the State of Haryana to enable them to cast their votes.
