The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution (MoCAFPD) on June 28, 2023, issued a notification regarding Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) (Amendment) Rules, 2023 to further amend the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011.
The amendment is as follows-
• In the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Amendment Rules, 2022, under rule 1 sub-rule (2) which specifies the date of enforcement, for the figures, letters, and words as “1st day of July 2023”, the figures, letters and words “1st day of September 2023” shall be substituted.
