The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on 06 July 2023 issued a notification regarding the Master Circular for Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvITs)
This circular aims to protect the interests of investors in securities and to promote the development and regulate the securities market
This Circular shall come into force on July 06, 2023
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that the circulars mentioned in the Appendix of this Master Circular shall stand superseded with the issuance of the Master Circular
• It states that with regard to the instructions or other guidelines provided by SEBI as specifically applicable to Infrastructure Investment Trusts, shall continue to be in force along with the requirements of any other legislation in force.
• It states that Upon the issuing of this Master Circular, entities are obliged to ensure compliance with various regulations and must submit the relevant reports as outlined in this Master Circular on a periodic/continuous basis.
• The Stock exchanges are further directed to post the contents of this Circular on their websites.
• This Master Circular is available on the SEBI website at https://www.sebi.gov.in/ under the category “Legal Master Circulars”
